Abraham of Jerusalem

From Wiki Maria Valtorta

Uncle of Samuel, Annalia's fiancé, who takes refuge in his home after his breakup with his fiancée. He helplessly witnesses Samuel's brawl with one of Annalia's parent who has come to lecture him, and whom he knocks out with an axe after drinking too much.

It is he who comes to warn Jesus and ask for his help, in order to avoid a double tragedy: the death of Annalia's relative and that of Samuel, following his conviction for murder by the Law.[1]
"I am old, and my sister [Samuel's mother is old, the servant and the maid are old. What could we do, the four of us and the two daughters, Samuel's sisters?" (...) "Tomorrow... maybe before, the parents will look for the man. And at our house, for they certainly know he has come and they will find him dead.... And Samuel, according to the Law, will be killed... Lord! Lord! Disgrace is already upon us... But this, no! Have mercy on my sister, Lord! He has cursed you... But his mother loves you..."[1]

Jesus guérira the dying man, then convinces the latter to pardonner Samuel and not to denounce him.[2]

His name

Abram means in Hebrew "he is noble by his father". Reference to the father of believers. The suffix "raham" given to Abraham by God does not change the meaning of the name.
