Adah and Janoe of Ephraim
The samaritan Ada is about to give birth to her eleventh child, but she is dying. Her husband Janoe panics, Mary of Jacob, the hostess of Jesus, runs to fetch him. He comes running. The husband proclaims his faith, but remains deaf to the words of Jesus who says, "Go, and have faith!"
He only understands, like the other Samaritans, when a cry announces the miracle over the dying woman and the unborn baby."Don't doubt. A little more faith. One moment. The woman must pay the bitter tribute of childbirth, but she's all right." And he descends the stairs, leaving them speechless. As he goes out into the street, he says in passing to the ten frightened children: "Don't be afraid! The mother is saved" and, as he says this, he strokes the little fearful faces with his hand.[1]
