The Marian Apparitions of Medjugorje and Maria Valtorta
In 1982, at the instigation of Brother Franjo, often questioned by readers of Maria Valtorta, the seer Marija (photo opposite) transmitted to the Virgin this question: "Can someone who requests it read this book?". The response of the Gospa was: "You may read it". This answer perfectly echoes the opinion of Pius XII and aligns with the position the Church would define, ten years later, regarding private revelations.
These testimonies are not negligible because several seers have received, from the Virgin Mary herself, the account of her life. These works remain unpublished.
Vicka, another seer, was more explicit in an interview given on January 27, 1988, to Jan Conell, an American lawyer from the Pittsburgh Center for Peace.Q - There is a private revelation in four volumes by Marie d'Agréda, called "The Mystical City of God". The Church approved this four-volume treatise as a private revelation. Do you know anything about that?Furthermore, at the end of the 1990s, the Centro Editoriale Valtortiano received photos of Vicka praying at the tomb of Maria Valtorta in Florence (Chapel of Santa Annunziata).A - Yes, of course. Our Lady told me it is an authentic version of her life.
Q - Are there other books on this subject about which Our Lady has spoken to you?
A - Yes. "The Gospel as Revealed to Me" by Maria Valtorta, in ten volumes – Our Lady says that "The Gospel as Revealed to Me" is the truth.
Q - How blessed we are to know that, Vicka!
A - Yes, Our Lady said that if a person wants to know Jesus, they must read "The Gospel as Revealed to Me" by Maria Valtorta. This book is the truth.
