Alphaeus of Meroba

From Wiki Maria Valtorta

This young child from Capernaum has a sad life: orphaned by his father Jacob, he is rejected and beaten, like his two brothers, by Merobah, their remarried mother.

The Virgin Mary, moved by pity, asks Meroba to entrust the child to her:
"But take him! Take him! If only you could take the other two! But I don't know where they are..." exclaims the mother.[1]
Alpheus gradually regains his equilibrium through contact with the women disciples, then Jesus puts him under the protection of Sara of Afeca*, a childless rich widow, who comes to live in Capernaum for this purpose.[2]

His name

Alpheus (Halphai) means "ephemeral".
