Sacraments

From Wiki Maria Valtorta
Extreme Unction - Rogier Van der Weyden
The Sacraments of the New Law are instituted by Christ and there are seven of them, namely Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist, Penance, the Anointing of the Sick, Order, and Marriage. The seven Sacraments touch all stages and all important moments of the Christian's life: they give birth and growth, healing and Mission to the life of faith of Christians. In this there is a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of spiritual life (cf. St. Thomas Aquinas, s. th. 3, 65, 1).[1]

In "The Gospel as Revealed to Me"

  • The necessity of the sacramental Signs.[2]
  • The Sacraments are supernatural and spiritual means, applied with material means. - Institution of the seven Sacraments: BaptismReconciliation – Sacrament of the sick – OrdinationMarriageConfirmationEucharist.[3]
  • Useless is the frequenting of the Sacraments and services, useless is the prayer if charity is lacking. It becomes mere formulas and even sacrileges.[4]
  • Every serious sin destroys Grace, that is the health of The Spirit. The signs you will leave us will restore health, it is true, but the obstinate sinner, who refuses the Struggle Against sin, will become weaker each time even if each time he receives forgiveness.[5]
