Victory, Triumph, To Overcome
In the Gospel and in the work of Maria Valtorta, "victory" is a term primarily of a spiritual nature. It means to conquer, through personal spiritual combat, the world, the demon, and the flesh, in order to obtain the Kingdom of God within us.
In "The Gospel as it was revealed to me"
- The Kingdom of the King of kings will come. It is reached not by a flowery and triumphant path, nor on a carpet soaked with the blood of enemies, but by the harsh way of sacrifice and by the gentle ladder of forgiveness and love. It is victories over ourselves that will give us this Kingdom.[1]
- The men who know you more and more and, because of this knowledge, are split into two branches: those who love you... and those who hate you... And the larger branch is the latter... - Evil senses it will be defeated and is furious... and it makes furious...[2]
- How is victory won? By the honesty of words and actions, by charity towards the Neighbor. By recognizing only God and not putting the idols of creatures, of money, of power, in the place of the Most Holy God.[3]
- The Apostles believe in the triumph of Jesus after the resurrection of Lazarus.[4]
