Elijah the Essene

From Wiki Maria Valtorta
The second of the hermits for Christ. The first is Aglae. He meets Jesus in the valley of Mount Cherith near Jericho. He then radically converts:
- Master! A madman! The one who was talking with You, the essene. He has stripped himself naked, he weeps and sighs.
- I am miraculously healed of the Heart. You healed me The Spirit. I obey your word. I clothe myself with light leaving behind all other thought that clothed me with error. I separate myself to meditate on the true God, to obtain life and resurrection. Is that enough? Give me a new name and show me a place where I will live from You and Your words.
Jesus gives him the name Elijah and invites him to live as a hermit in the caves of the valley. Jesus asks Nike to help him each month by bringing meager food and clothes:
I ask you a favor, for the love of this Soul that is being reborn, which is full of good will, but is very weak. Excessive penance could distress him and Satan might use this distress.

Which she will do punctually.[1]
