Will, Good or Bad Will
The will of every man on Earth is Called to adhere to and conform with the will of God in all things, with the help of prayer and Grace. Even if it may cause (a little) fear, Jesus reminds us that God wants our Good.
In "The Gospel as it was revealed to me"
The will of God
- Love the will of God.[2]
- "Thy will be done …"[3]
- The will of God is universal because it never stops at a personal thought, but considers the Good of the entire universe. Thus God, when He commands you, or advises you, or inspires an action, does not do so out of selfish interest, but out of an altruistic, charitable thought, for your well-being.[4]
- The will of God makes me a little afraid... because I do not know if God wants what I want..." - "God wants your Good".[5]
- In life, do not put your will before that of God. All those who obey will find themselves in Heaven and it will be a great celebration then.[6]
- What is the will of the people? What is the people? By whom is it a people? Who supports it as such? God. Do not forget.[7]
- The wind is the will of God which can give or take away life as He pleases, without you having to complain about it, just as the bird does not complain about the passing cloud, but sings anyway, sure that good weather will return afterward. For the cloud is the incident. The sky is the reality. The sky remains always blue even if the clouds seem to make it gray.[8]
The will of man
- I do not want to do everything by myself. I ask for the will of man and the help of others to form a man. I invite you to help me.[9]
- Others will be more brilliant and more formed: they will be the righteous who united their will - note Good, their will, not their good will - to the will of the Christ.[10]
- The will is everything.[11]
- It is not events, but the will of man that disturbs the actions of man. […] It is always the will of man that makes the Good or the evil be accomplished. And upon the will of man, the Will of God projects its lights and the will of Satan its poisonous vapors. It is up to man to filter the light or the poison and to become just or sinner.[12]
- He knows he is cursed by the God of Israel, but he persists. Even if I were to heal him, starting with his Soul, he would return to his Satanic Satanic essence. His will is corrupt. He is a rebel. I cannot."[13]
- Your prayer that is persevering and trustful, made with good intention, is it not a holy will opposed to the bad will of man?[14]
Good will
- Atheism and men of good will.[15]
- Peace! That is success, that is victory on Earth and in Heaven, because God is with the one who has the good will to obey Him. God does not look so much at the resounding works that man accomplishes on his own initiative as at the humble, prompt, faithful obedience to the works He proposes.[16]
In other works by Maria Valtorta
The Notebooks of 1943
- Catechesis of July 17: Providence, the Providence, the paternal goodness of your God therefore work on you. With what does God work you? With His will. The will of God is the instrument that makes of you, wild fibers, precious fabrics and wools. He works you in a thousand ways, offering you crosses, illustrating the beauty of a mortification and urging you by His invitation to do it, guiding you with His inspirations, mortifying you with His paternal punishment, twisting you with His commandments (p. 162).[17]
- Catechesis of July 30: Blessed are those who know how to live in the spirit. Their life on earth is a blessedness anticipated by love with me. […] The dwellings of the Kingdom of the Father are reserved for them and, from this life on, the Grace of the Lord girds them as a fortress of rocks. They are "safe". Only their will, if it perverts, can break this security whose cornerstone is the will of God and theirs, the word of God and their obedience to the Law. (p.197)[18]
- Catechesis of August 29: It is easier to make a sacrifice or an offering, to practice an act of mercy than to be constantly obedient to the will of God. It presents itself to you minute by minute like Water flowing and passing, bringing other waves of Water and more. And you are like fish immersed in the will of God that slips over you. If you want to get out, you die, my children. It is your vital element. And not a drop that does not come from a reason of love. Believe it. (p. 265)[19]
